As the new season approaches, the emphasis is on easy to achieve ‘ready to wear’ hair, giving a seamless transition into autumn.
Choppy bobs and shoulder length shapes are a perfect choice this season – the effect is effortless and very easy to maintain. With minimal effort your hair will look good, no matter what the weather conditions. With longer lengths – simply incorporate long layers and a slightly grown out fringe.

Tip the head upside down and dry the hair using the dryer and a large Mason and Pearson hair brush – brushing the hair in multi directions as you go. Create a side or middle parting and work out from here to secure your ponytail in the nape of the neck – giving a tighter silhouette. Twist the hair back onto itself, winding the hair down into a small bun. Pin the bun into place using grips or straight pins from Screen Face.
For added shine and a perfect smooth surface – lightly gloss over the finished look with Hair Elixir Oil from Rahua.
Braids are a great way to dress longer hair. Allow the hair to dry naturally working in Pure Abundance Style Prep from Aveda, and slow dry using the fantastic Lightweight Dryer by Harry Josh. Work the hair over from one side, then braid down from behind the ear. The technique does not have to be perfect and looks great with a little texture for a fresh editorial effect. To hold the shape in place, secure the braid by back brushing the ends.
Ultimately, as the season approaches, my advice would be to work with the natural texture of the hair and not to fight against that.
Make your A/W17 hair easy and fun to wear – definitely not something to be covered up and hidden away. Waves, texture, long layers and grown out fringes are always perfect – they look effortless and allow for an on trend transition into the new season.
The new season is all about minimum effort to achieve maximum impact. In this case less is most definitely more.
